Baby it’s cold outside

So this product I want to tell you about is something I never thought I’d buy. But I was thoroughly convinced by friends that this is a must-have when the temps start dropping. And they were right.

Let me introduce you to the Ororo heated vest. Now heated vests are a dime a dozen but this one is worth its weight in gold. I’m not gonna lie, it’s pricier than I wanted to spend but I bought it on sale(of course). Not only that, I was worried to try one of the cheaper versions where reviews were iffy and quality drives price.

What really got me about this vest was that it was the same weight as my regular vests, great fabric and fits well. I’d say they fit true to size while there’s a lot of great colors to choose from.

So far I’ve got no complaints and recommend to anyone trying to stave off the bitter cold. Be sure to act fast – winter is coming! 😉

Black Friday – sitewide deals list

This may be my favorite shopping time of the year! I’ve shared in my bio I was a former analyst and constantly saw the true cost of a product vs the markup everyone buys them at. I try to hold out on buying things until this time of year because of that. I buy holidays gifts now, replenish my faves, try new products at a lesser price…all the things.

Here are some of my favorite overall deals, but keep checking in as I add new links:

DSW – 30% off deal tends to be best, and sometimes on Black Friday it may bump up higher. I replenish kids winter boots, boots/shoes for me and gifts for my husband around this time…don’t forget socks and accessories are included too. Great stocking stuffers!

Juice Beauty – 30% off sitewide is a solid deal – I’ve bought stocking stuffers and small gifts for family and friends from this site. Love the light scent and I’ve had good experiences with the product.

Show me your mug – but it’s so much more than that

I love coffee, tea, hot chocolate – all things warm and cozy. But I especially love drinking them out of cute mugs. Let me tell you more about my latest fave.

So I was trying to embrace a wellness kick(again) and planned to make healthy breakfasts to force me out of my accidental intermittent fasting in the mornings. I planned to make chia pudding, yogurt parfaits and healthy desserts galore, but when one wants to jumpstart a healthy lifestyle, one must have the right supplies to support this journey. 😉

I was (and still am)in a fluted-cup-lover stage. I found THE cutest mugs that are dual purpose for drinks and storing whatever you want. These 12oz. mugs have fluted glass with bamboo lids that come with the most adorable stirring spoons – which was exactly what I needed to stir those chia seeds.

Even better yet, the lids made storing premade creations and stacking them for storage a breeze!

I love having my morning, or anytime of day, coffee in them. They just make me happy and I hope the same for you.

No pickpocketers for me

This past summer we traveled to Spain and Portugal…France too, but that’s a long story, gotta love airlines (pro tip: don’t fly Level). Our goal was to travel like minimalists to avoid carting huge roller suitcases up and down cobblestone streets and reduce stress, really -> less bags = less stress to me.

I agonized over what essentials to bring, but most importantly what to use to carry my essentials, like passports, money, phones, chargers, water bottles (such tourists). I knew some of the spots we were visiting were big tourist traps and, therefore, ripe for pick-pocketers.

I searched for anti-theft bags far and wide. I asked friends, family and did my own online research. The reco that rose to the top, from a former travel agent no less, was PacSafe. So many safety features (cut-resistant material, lockable zippers, RFID pocket, detachable strap to wrap around a chair/table) and convenience options that were perfect for my needs. I went with the smaller daytrip backpack because this was really replacing my purse while we were out and about.

What’s more shocking is how much stuff I could fit in it. Like, I always kept a small water bottle in it, sometimes two. At night I stuffed it with hoodies or long-sleeved shirts (for a family of 4!) for when it got cooler. We kept our AirBnB keys in there, sunscreen, multiple phones, backup charges…the list goes on.

Other than the fact it fit everything we needed, I think the best part of it was the peace of mind it provided. As we walked down La Rambla in Barcelona, night or day, I kept on strolling thinking less about getting robbed and more about imprinting everything around me to memory. Totally found the sweet spot with this backpack – highly recommend!
